the riverstone team

Our experienced and qualified team knows what it takes to make an original home, and since our process allows each member to share your vision, each is in turn a valuable contributor to specific stages of the process. Since we limit the number of homes we build in a year so as not to compromise service or quality, you can be certain that each of our team members will be working with you at various stages of development, and each is committed to the high standards that are part of any RiverStone Original Home.

Mike Loyens

Mike Loyens has been building prestigious homes and cottages in Southern Ontario for a diverse clientele for over 25 years. The family business - W.H. Loyens Homes - enabled Mike to learn the ins and outs of fine home building at a relatively early age.

He began by working with all the trades involved in construction; learning the processes involved, and what each trade required from the others to help the job flow on time, on budget, and with the fewest quality control issues.

After mastering the trade disciplines, Mike moved on to site management and customer relations and quickly became skilled at both. In 1999 Mike started up RiverStone Original Homes, with the idea of building one of a kind homes that reflected the tastes and vision of his clients.

Over the years, Mike has built original homes for doctors, lawyers, farmers and other professionals; each a unique creation and every one built to the highest standards possible.

Travis Loyens

Travis Loyens has well over 20 years of experience in many construction disciplines, including; commercial, municipal, recreational, agricultural, and residential. After graduating from Construction Engineering at Fanshawe College, he was employed in Guelph by Keith McEwen Associates Inc. as a Project Manager working throughout Southern Ontario on projects in excess of $10,000,000. While at KMA he honed the skills that would eventually complement his role at Riverstone Original Homes, including preliminary budgeting, project cost controlling, value engineering and estimating.

After KMA, Travis felt it was time to return to the family business and joined with his brother and father at RiverStone Original Homes. Working in both the office and the field has further enhanced his construction management, estimating, and problem solving skills. Being exposed to a diverse array of projects over his career has allowed him to bring many different disciplines and approaches to the projects at hand, and deliver a very high level of satisfaction for everyone involved.
